HENRY FORD FAIR LANE ESTATE

CHRISTMAN COMPANY is in the process of restoring the four-story, century-old hydroelectric Powerhouse that previously provided power to Henry Ford’s Fair Lane Estate. Built in 1928, the powerhouse had two generators that were capable of producing 110 kilowatts of electricity using water diverted from the nearby Rouge River. The project includes shoreline restoration, the construction of a glass elevator tower, and restoration of the automobile turntable located inside the garage.
